About us

Harðviðarval ehf. was founded in 1978 by the couple Gottskálk Þorsteinn Eggertsson and Guðrún Einarsdóttir together with their son, Einar S. Gottskálksson. Harðviðarval is still a family business owned by the same family and has operated under the same company ID since 1978.

The same family has run the business from the start, and the company has never had debt written off by banks or other lenders. We regard trust as a very important part of doing business: if something comes up, you can come back to us.

Harðviðarval has always aimed to offer customers the newest and best in every kind of floor covering, together with a wide range of doors. Our showroom at Krókháls 4 displays samples of everything we offer, and our flooring specialists are there to advise.

We offer laminate, engineered wood and vinyl flooring, tiles, carpets, sheet flooring, doors, skirting profiles and underlays. The store is at Krókháls 4 and we hold stock at Krókháls 4 and Selhella 4 in Hafnarfjörður.
